Goodbye Catherine

Sad news from Janet today:

"On October 3 in the evening, Catherine breathed her last breath.  We’ll both miss her; she was a good companion. No, we will not be getting another; we feel we’re too old to take care of an animal that would likely outlive us."

Catherine visited our blog twice (you may remember her from those posts).
Pets bring so much joy into our lives, yet it is so very sad when such a dear friend leaves us.

Goodbye Catherine

Winter Time

We have had one snowy day this year. There was not much snow and it did not last long (luckily one day only) but the dogs had an opportunity to have some fun in it. On the other hand, I am not sure whether they really enjoyed the cold weather.

The dogs are so lovely!

Szybka decyzja i Ania zabrała kotka.

Zapraszamy do odwiedzenia stron Ani:

This sweet pet lives with Ania in Vietnam.

  • Pet: cat
  • Name: Kimchi
Where did the name come from? Kimchi is Ania's favorite kind of cabbage.
  • Age: 7 months
  • Kimchi's story:
Ania found the kitten when she was doing a house call visit (Ania is a vet). Somebody had left the cat there. The cat was about 3 or 4 weeks then - it could neither eat nor walk on its own. Kimchi was lucky - Ania put the kitten on her motor scooter and they travelled to her home together. And she has been Kimchi's mum since then.

What Kimchi likes: he loves coconuts. He also enjoys crawling under the bedspread when Ania is asleep in the morning - and pinching her with his little toothless mouth.

Kimchi is a very sociable pet, he gets angry and screams a lot when Ania pays no attention to himself.

  • Who is Ania:
Ania is a blogger and member of The Polish Lady Abroad Club.

Catherine Awaits Spring

Not only people long for the spring and warmer temperatures. Here is the message* sent by Janet, a dear friend of Illinois. As you can see, it seems Catherine, the cat, cannot wait till it gets warm for good..

'One of the things that lets us know that spring has actually arrived (besides a 70° day with open windows) is the daffodils showing up.  No, these are not yet from the yard, but from the store, but still… Catherine also had a busy day running from open window to open window and is quite ready to go to bed, once she has her picture taken.  :-)
Lovely Catherine: '(...) after dinner; her favorite thing to do as soon as the place mat is cleared is to sit on it :-)'

Catherine has been on our blog already. She is quite a peculiar cat - check out here:
Wishing you all a beautiful Spring!
May it fill your hearts with lots of sunshine and
may the enchantment of nature coming back to life again, make your days beautiful too.

* I am sharing it all with Janet's permission
